Ek Villain sequel is being planned. The production house Balaji - is bankrolling the second film in the franchise and they are already in talks with several actors for the key parts. Mohit Suri will mostly return to shoot this film, which is expected to go on floors towards the last quarter of 2019, after Mohit wraps up his other film with Disha and Aditya.

When Ek Villain released, it wasn't planned as a franchise film but its super success made the team work on a script, which will make for a good watch. From what we hear, Mohit is currently thinking of actors who can step into the key roles. It's again a dark thriller which is expected to do well at the box office. Scripting is almost complete with finishing touches being left to be given to fine-tune the narrative.

A birdie has told us that Balaji has initiated talks with Arjun Kapoor already. "Arjun has loved the idea and has been part of the discussions from the very inception. He is very kicked about starting this one. He has said yes to it on principle. The contracts are yet to be signed."

But yes, he won't play the hero here. "He very well knows that it's the villain's role which is meatier and more experimental for him since he's never tried out that space. Plus, Riteish received maximum love for his role in the original. So he has clearly told the makers to keep him as the prime antagonist and they have also agreed." Now, the other cast members of the film need to be locked.

Arjun, in the meanwhile, has three releases this year. He's got Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar in March, India's Most Wanted in May and Panipat in December. He will have free dates, June onwards once he finishes the principal shoot of the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial venture.
