The online world is a scary place. Although we have the freedom to speak our minds but the netizens sometimes make it freakishly scary if the opinions expressed are different from theirs. Owing to the same Gangs of Wasseypur director Anurag Kashyap quit Twitter yesterday and blamed it all on the netizens.
He is very popularly known for his bold opinions and time and again he has expressed his disagreement with the current government policies. But what came ahead was a bumpy road as he started getting trolled online and not just that his family received death threats too.
Many of the ardent followers of the current government started backlashing the director for demeaning the policies and owing to the same Anurag has resorted to nothing but quitting the platform which made it all happen. In a statement to announce his move, he wrote on Twitter itself."When your parents start to get calls and your daughter gets online threats then you know no one wants to talk. There is going to be no reason or rationale. Thugs will rule and thuggery will be the new way of life. Congratulations everyone on this new India and hope you thrive."
In one more Tweet, he wrote,"Wish you all the happiness and success. This would be my last tweet as i leave Twitter. When I won't be allowed to speak my mind without fear, I would rather not speak at all."
Here's the threat which his daughter received after which he had notified PM Modi about the same.
On work front Anurag is now gearing up to make the second season of the much loved digital series, Sacred Games 2.

With Kashmir under siege and completely cut off from the rest of the world and all these bhakts causing terror everywhere India is slowly becoming Nazi Germany 2.0. Modi is far worse than Hitler!
