Anupamaa's Mazher Sayed feels Television will always have its loyal audience: 'Doing best to stay relevant'

Mazher Sayyed, who is currently seen in Anupamaa, says though he doesn't think TV is the only comfort for the audience, he stressed that the platform will always have a loyal audience.

He said, "With so many platforms now, different age groups have their preferences and places to explore various genres. OTT platforms have raised the bar in terms of storytelling and production value. However, TV will always have its own loyal audience and a certain charm that’s irreplaceable."

"It may have its own set of dos and don'ts, but it continues to evolve," he added.

He mentioned that TV and TV shows are evolving and emphasised that it's important to keep up with the changing times. "Television is doing its best. The competition is tough now, but TV is still trying to stay relevant while holding onto its unique flavour. That balance is tough but necessary," he said.

Mazher, however, pointed out that the content shouldn't solely change as per the audience’s liking. He said, "I believe an artist shouldn’t solely depend on the audience. We have to trust the creatives who are making the shows."

"Content shouldn’t be dictated only by what the audience wants at the moment. It's the creative minds behind the scenes who bring life to a show, and they should have the freedom to shape the narrative," he added.

Asked how he has evolved as an actor, he said, "I’m still learning. I believe growth is a continuous journey, and every day on set adds something new to my experience."

"Evolution, for me, is an ongoing process," Mazher ended.
