Sony SAB's 'Vanshaj' follows Yuvika Mahajan (Anjali Tatrari), challenging traditional family norms by pushing for merit-based succession in the family business instead of gender-based inheritance. This causes tensions within the Mahajan family and sparks a fierce rivalry between Yuvika (Anjali Tatrari) and DJ (Mahir Pandhi).
Anjali Tatrari, who portrays Yuvika, Yukti, and now Chinky, discusses her experience of playing three roles in a single show in an exclusive interview with India Forums. Read on to know what Anjali has to say-
Talking about playing not two, but three characters in the show, I mean, I've done a show where I have played two characters before, but in fact, there are two characters, but here I just feel there's so much on my shoulders, and when I say on my shoulders, I don't mean that it's too much work, but the fact that there's such a big responsibility and you want all these three tracks to work like we started with Yuvika, which did make a place in a lot of people's hearts. Then we had Yukti's entry, which, again, was a huge hit because everybody loved that character, and both of those characters were completely drastic.

I have picked up a Punjabi lingo, and it is crazy how I'm able to play both positive and negative character in one show

Now, talking about playing chinky, it is so much fun to do this character because a very desi girl, you know, how Yuvika was very poised, how Yukti was very classy. This one is a complete, like, drastic change of both the characters, and as an actor, I feel absolutely blessed because, you know, there's so much versatility that I'm getting to show in one show. Every time a new character comes in, I have always said this, that you sort of come out of your comfort zone. It's as good as doing a new show altogether, plus the immense amount of love that I'm receiving, it's crazy, and for Chinky's character, I have picked up a Punjabi lingo, and it is crazy how I'm able to play both positive and negative character in one show.
I've never done a negative character before, and I'm absolutely, absolutely gonna, you know, give it my best to play the negative character. I just feel there's so much to do in a negative character, and in an ongoing scene, you can do so many changes, from positive to negative, like how I'm faking in front of my family. Cut to as soon as anything that works in my favour, I have a negative reaction to it. So there's so much to play, you know, and I'm absolutely, absolutely thrilled to be playing three characters, and hopefully, I'll do justice to all three. Other than that, I just feel like I'm absolutely blessed for this opportunity. It is a big responsibility because, like I said, you want all three characters to work, so I'm just hoping. I'm just hoping even Chinky receive the same amount of love that Yuvika and Yukti have been receiving. Lastly, I'm going to thank the writers and the producer for believing in me that I could play three characters.
