Anant Mahadevan not to direct 'Gupshup Coffee Shop'

Gupshup Coffee Shop, a humorous drama based on the day to day life of a family airing on SAB TV was being directed by none other than Anant Mahadevan, who has been a part of many path breaking serials in the past. But due to certain issues Anant will not be directing the show anymore.

Debjani, Creative Head of Anuj Saxena's  Maverick Productions, says “It is true that Anant Mahadevan will not be directing the show anymore. But it is not because of any problem with the channel or the production house. His film shooting is starting in March because of which he will be busy and will not be able to devote time to directing the serial. We have replaced him with Swapna Joshi."

Anant Mahadevan confirmed the news as he says, “I am starting the shooting of my film 'Red Alert' from March and I had already informed the channel I would be shooting only till February. I have no issues with the production house or the channel and there was no contract as such. It was just a verbal agreement where-in they knew that I was going to shoot only for this period.”

Under the well guided direction of Anant Mahadevan, Gupshup Coffee Shop was a breath of fresh air amidst all the saas-bahu sagas. Now it waits to be seen if the same carries on under the new director.
