His post came in the midst of growing speculation that the Narendra Modi-led government is considering a proposal to rename India as Bharat during the upcoming special session of Parliament.

The government's plan to introduce a resolution for renaming India as Bharat is gaining traction, with the special session of Parliament scheduled from September 18th to 22nd.

As the discussions and debates surrounding this potential renaming gain momentum, Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to express his sentiments with a patriotic touch, posting 'Bharat Mata ji jai' accompanied by the Indian flag emoji.

Amitabh Bachchan's post prompted a lively discussion among his followers, with some expressing their preference for 'Bharat' while others stood by 'India.' The potential renaming of the country has become a focal point of debate between the central government and the opposition camp.

One follower wrote, "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" while another one wrote, "इंडिया ही भारत है..भारत ही इंडिया है हमे दोनो नाम पे गर्व है समझे बच्चन साहब..!"

The call for renaming India through a Constitutional amendment has garnered increasing support, suggesting that the government may indeed present a resolution to bring about this significant change.

For the unversed an official dinner invitation for G20 delegates, usually titled 'President of India,' was recently altered to read 'President of Bharat.' This change represents a noteworthy departure from the traditional naming conventions for official events.
