Popular actor Amar Upadhyay, who played the role of Ganga Thakur and the onscreen father of Priyanshi Yadav's character in Doree 2 on Colors TV, is all set to return to the show—but just for a short while.
There had been buzz in the media that Amar would be shooting again for Doree 2. Now, India Forums has learned exclusively that the actor has shot for a brief part in the show, which will mark the closure of his character's storyline.
When contacted, Amar Upadhyay confirmed the news. He said, "I am not returning to the show full-time. I just shot for two days to give a proper ending to my character."
Amar had made a comeback in Doree for its second season, which began airing on January 21, 2025. The new season introduced a fresh cast with Priyanshi Yadav playing the lead role of Doree, alongside Ishaan Dhawan as Maan Thakur and Sreejita De as Rajnandini Thakur. However, Amar exited the show just a month after the season started.
Fans of Amar Upadhyay were surprised by his early exit, and many wondered if he would ever return. Now, his short reappearance will bring closure to his role and give fans some answers.
Amar is a well-known face in the television industry. He gained fame with his iconic role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and has been a part of many other hit shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho, Ishqbaaaz, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, and Molkki.
