Alladin turns into a 'Lion Man'...

Zee's Aladdin will see a major twist coming wherein, the young guy turns into a lion man at night.

This transformation is the result of a curse coming from the evil Zafar, and on the night of Aladdin-Jasmine wedding, he turns into a lion man. If this is not enough, Jasmine cannot be touched by anyone in the day as she gets electrocuted.

Giving us details about the three week long process to get the new look of Aladdin aka Mandar in the show, Angira, Creative Head says, "Aladdin will turn into a half lion and half man at night. We will show the pattern in which his look changes. The color of his eyes change first, he then grows hairs and paws of a lion and a pair of teeth too. His voice then changes to a gruff and a roar".

Talking about Mandar, Angira quips, "Mandar had initial problems as he found it difficult to speak after putting the false pair of canine. But soon he overcame this and mastered speaking dialogues with them on. It was quite an ordeal for Aladdin to wear the heavy bakhtar (armour) and the hairy body suit and do the action scenes...but the professional actor that he is, soon he got into the character and gave his best shot".

Numerous look trials, 6 pairs of different coloured lens, customised pair of sandals, couple of trips to the dentist for the fake teeth, around 2 kg of hair (used in 5-6 wigs) was used in the body suit, and approx. Rs. 45,700/- and lot of hard work went in the final look of Aladdin turning into lion.

When asked about the track ahead, Angira says, "Aladdin will have to fight with himself now, as even after marriage he has to be away from Jasmine. He cannot touch her in the day, and at night, Aladdin gets tranformed into a lion man. This story track will be there for the next 2 months or so. We have lot of scope here too, as Aladdin, the lion man will also be in action helping out people who are in need".
