While Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika is doing good at box office, Kangana's heart is still dismayed. This time with Alia Bhatt and yes, it has something to do with nepotism once again. After Kangana initiated a war of words with Karan Johar and accused him of being the flag bearer of nepotism, Kangana now feels that the industry is siding with him and not her.
In a media interaction for Manikarnia, Kangana revealed that she invited people from the industry over for the screening of Manikarnika but no one turned up. She said that earlier when Alia Bhatt had asked her to watch the trailer of Raazi, she even praised Alia and her work in public to show her support. But no such reciprocation was made from Alia's side and it is the reason of her dismay.
Kangana said and we quote,"These girls send me their trailers like Alia (Bhatt) sent me the trailer of Raazi and said, 'Please watch it'. For me, it was not a Karan Johar film or Alia film, for me, it was a film on Sehmat Khan, the girl who has given her everything to the country. How do these people become so petty? This is a very strange sort of a racket. I don't know what they are threatened by,"
When media asked Alia about the allegation made, she said to Asian Age,"I didn't follow that controversy at all. I was too busy shooting. I will always support actresses and actors for the films that they do and if they are in any trouble but this is something personal, which I don't think is fair for any of us to get into. Kangana is a strong woman and very outspoken and a fab actress. If she ever needs support, I am sure people will stand up for her but I don't think she gives that feeling that she needs support."
In another interaction, Alia even added,"I hope she likes me. I don't think I've done anything to upset her. If I have, I will apologise to her. She is very outspoken and it takes very tremendous courage to be like that. I wasn't aware I had upset her."
From Alia's statements it seems like she actually did it in ignorance and it has no relation with the industry being ignorant towards Kangana or Manikarnika. Well, we hope now Kangana accepts the olive branch extended by Alia and let the things go easy.
