Ali Merchant has no time to heal his injury...

Ali Merchant aka Akshat of Amber Dhara is experiencing a lot of pain lately. And no, it’s not due to the ending of his show on Sony, but more because the actor overstretched himself while working out in the gym few days back in an attempt to build his body for his upcoming show.

Talking about the injury Ali says, “I had not worked out for quite some time since I busy with my show on Zee Next, Ek Thi Rajkumari. In an attempt to make up for lost time, I pushed myself a little too much and ended up tearing a ligament. But, things reached a head a day later when I had to carry my co-star Neha Marda.” The stunt caused too much pressure on the ligament causing Ali to fall down on the floor grimacing in pain. Ali was quite grateful to the unit as he says, “When I had the fall, the entire unit rushed to my help. They immediately rushed me to the hospital and were even ready to cancel the shooting. But, I returned back after first aid.”

When questioned about the abrupt wrapping of his show, Amber Dhara, Ali refused to blame Sony Entertainment Television saying, “They are experts in the field and know much better than me. So I cannot blame them for wrapping up the show.” Ali was also seen in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki but is quite happy doing just one show at the moment. Speaking about the fantasy saga Ek Thi Rajkumari he says, “The show is different from the regular family drama. I know the channel is having some distribution problems but I hope things get ironed out soon enough.”

Although Ali has received a ton of offers post Amber Dhara, he has rejected most of them. When asked why, Ali replied, “Working in two dailies at the same time almost drove me crazy earlier. Hence, from now I will do only one show at a time, until Ek Thi Rajkumari gets over.” He adds on, “The show for which I am working might be a weekly or bi-weekly. Besides dailies, I would mind doing a reality show or two or maybe anchoring”, says Ali as he signs out.
