In the realm of Bollywood, the spotlight has recently shifted to the highly anticipated film, "Mission Raniganj," featuring the dynamic duo of Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra. This gripping tale unfolds the real-life chronicles of mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, celebrated for his courageous rescue of trapped miners in the Raniganj Coalfields back in 1989. 

Despite generating significant buzz upon its theatrical release on October 6, the film faced a lukewarm response at the box office. However, now, after two months, "Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue" has found its way onto the popular OTT platform Netflix, marking a new chapter in its cinematic journey.

The film's narrative revolves around the remarkable journey of Jaswant Singh Gill, an IIT Dhanbad graduate and mining engineer. Drawing inspiration from a pivotal event in his life, the movie vividly recounts Gill's leadership in a daring rescue mission to save approximately 65 coal miners trapped in the Raniganj coalfields of West Bengal in 1989.

Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the film not only boasts the stellar performances of Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra but also features a robust supporting cast. The ensemble includes accomplished actors such as Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt, and Omkar Das Manikpuri in pivotal roles.
