Ajinkya Rahane on being trolled by Virat Kohli’s fans over his first Test run out against Australia

Critically acclaimed filmmaker and producer, Neeraj Pandey recently announced the release of his upcoming sports docu series ‘Bandon Mein Tha Dum’, by unveiling its riveting trailer at a press launch event held in Mumbai. The four-part docuseries delves deeper into the obstacles that the Indian Cricket Team had to navigate during their 2020/21 tour of Australia before marking a historic win against the world’s no.1 Test side on their home soil. ‘Bandon Mein Tha Dum’ is presented through the lens of cricketers from the winning squad, including Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, CheteshwarPujara, HanumaVihari and Washington Sundar, and it will be available to stream on Voot Select from 16th June 2022!

Under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, a relatively under-experienced team was able to pull off a 2-1 series win despite a rocky start with 36 all out at the Adelaide Oval. While Rahane was showered with heaps of praises for making history, he also received a lot of flak on social media from Virat Kohli’s fans over the latter’s game-changing run out in the first Test match against Australia. When a journalist asked Rahane for his reaction to the same during the press conference for ‘Bandon Mein Tha Dum’, he said, “I was not even aware of being trolled by Virat’s fans. Usually, I am off social media before, during and after any series.” Rahane continued, “I don’t think that moment must have been as distressful for anyone as it was for Virat and me.”

Referring to the journalist, Ravichandran Ashwin added, “Virat’s fans are also Ajinkya fans because we play for the same country.” Ashwin concluded, “Hopefully, this documentary (Bandon Mein Tha Dum) will change that landscape!”
