Aditya-Katrina finalised for 'Fitoor'

Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif will play the lead roles in Abhishek Kapoor's next venture "Fitoor" and the love story is likely to go on the floors in the first half of 2014.

Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif will play the lead roles in Abhishek Kapoor's next venture "Fitoor" and the love story is likely to go on the floors in the first half of 2014.

"As a filmmaker, I have always invested in new and emerging talent and with his talent and personna, Aditya is right up there," said Kapoor.

He is known for making the successful movie "Kai Po Che!" with newcomers like Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and emerging talent Rajkumar Yadav.

"Abhishek Kapoor was looking for a perfect cast for his timeless love story 'Fitoor' and we're glad that he has found them in Aditya and Katrina," Rucha Pathak, senior creative director - studios, Disney UTV, said in a statement.

The film is a screen adaptation of Charles Dickens' novel "Great Expectations" and will see Aditya playing 'Pip', who is the narrator as well as protagonist in the novel. Katrina will be seen as rich girl Estella.

The pivotal role of 'Miss Havisham', Estella's mother, is currently being cast and an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
