Dharma production's one of the most awaited projects Kalank is all set to hit the theaters on April 17. The film stars many Bollywood stars - Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, and Aditya Roy Kapur. Although, Aditya is all set to resume his work with the upcoming film as he will be seen on-screen after two long years.
Now that, the fans have already expressed their excitement with his appearance in the film; many fans have been left wondering why he took a break from work? And we finally have an answer to that question!
During a recent media interaction, Aditya opened up about as to why he chose to stay away from the big screen the past two years. He mentioned his desire to grasp a script that would drive him and he wasn't as excited about the projects that were offered to him.
He said, "I never consciously decided to take time off, but I wasn't excited about the projects that came my way. I wanted to work only on movies that would drive me."
Furthermore, he spoke to great lengths about how this time off gave him time for preparation for the role of Dev Chaudhry in Kalank, Aditya revealed that he learned about the era by watching movies and reading books.
He said, "This time off gave me time to prepare for Kalank. I studied about the era that it is set in by watching movies and reading books. My character was attuned with the political climate of that time, and I needed to walk insufficiently educated about his worldview."
On the work front, he is being roped for Anurag Basu's untitled film, Mohit Suri's Malang and Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak 2.
