Aditya Deshmukh shares his Janmasthami memories

Aditya Deshmukh, who is known for his roles in shows such as Punnar Vivah, Bade Aache Lagte Hai, says that Janmashtami has always been a fun festival. He says that he has some wonderful memories from the celebrations.

“I remember that most of the time, we had our exams, and because of this, I couldn't play. But when I did get a chance to play, it was like I was the most favoured in the building, and I was chosen to break the Dahi Handi on top. I remember on days when my exams were going on, I would quickly go after studying, but everything would be over by then. Today, it's not like that. Nowadays, people play until late at night. During our time, the event would end by 12, 12:30, or 1:00, and if it rained, they used to throw water from bottles. Here, we would charge 1 rupee, and we would make a pond, and we would break the Handi that way. So, it was an amazing memory,” he says.

Talking about Dahi Handi celebrations, he says, “I see it around me every year.  People come there, and many ministers and promotions happen there. There are many parties. It’s very scary to watch. I have a phobia, but it's definitely fun.”

Talking about the plan this year, he says, “There is no such plan; there is a prayer at home, and that's it. If I get a holiday, I will stay at home, and in the evening, if there is something to see, I will definitely go to see it because you know it's this mark of celebration, and it's fun to watch. It's not just about watching; it's also fun to be there.”
