Additi Gupta on her husband not being from the TV industry

Actor Additi Gupta currently stars as the leading face in Sony TV's Dhadkan Zindaggi Kii and has been on the tube for over a decade now. But when it comes to her marriage, Gupta chose to marry someone who is not from the industry and during this pandemic situation, Gupta has relocated to Goa with her husband and businessman Kabir Chopra.

Gupta did come back to Mumbai a few months ago as she bagged the role in Dhadkan. Recently, in an interview with ETimes TV, Gupta talked about her stay in Goa, “That was my comfort zone. It was much easier to move around there and have a better life. Mumbai is hectic for me now.”

Talking about life post marriage, she said, “Nothing much has changed after marriage. The only difference is that now I have a constant companion on my life journey, who is with me through my ups and downs. I am very happy about that. Besides, after meeting Kabir, I realised I enjoy travelling. He loves travelling and we have travelled a lot before the pandemic struck. In fact, we went on a one-month honeymoon to Europe.”

My husband is not from the TV industry or showbiz and I feel that is definitely a plus point.

The best thing about being married, according to Gupta, is the comfort factor that you experience in the relationship. She says, “When you feel a sense of peace and contentment being with your partner and are comfortable talking to him and sharing things... that’s the best thing about marriage. My husband is not from the TV industry or showbiz and I feel that is definitely a plus point. We have many other things to talk about. He also understands my profession which is good. He has seen my earlier shows and gives me an honest opinion about things. He likes watching me in Dhadkan right now because it is a different kind of a script.”

Currently, the two are in a long-distance marriage because of Gupta's shooting and it’s not easy. She says, “It is tough, but we are managing. Kabir has poured himself into work and I am busy because of the long shoot hours. But we do make elaborate plans to meet and that keeps us going. Also, my in-laws are a blessing for me; they are very nice people.”
