Aastha learns from kids

Forget research and workshops, for Aastha Choudhary who plays Reva in Colors' Aise Karo Naa Vidaa kids have proved to be the best teachers!

Aastha tells us, "My character is very young. It's very different from what I played in Baabul where I was very sophisticated. Here my character is very bindaas (carefree). I kept wondering how I'll bring Reva to life, then I saw the kids playing in my building and figured that Reva is very much like them. She has no tensions, is very innocent and isn't bothered about the society's comments about her. So the children turned to be the best teachers I could ask for. I used to watch them everyday and study them."

Aastha tells us what made her take up this role and what was worth in it for her to consider doing a full-fledged role in a daily soap again. "As an actor, I've got a lot of potential to explore myself in this role. It offers me lot of scope for variation. You know, at first she is this bubbly character and later after she is raped she turns into this brooding silent, numb, stone-cold and detached person. The scenes are difficult and to bring alive the facial expressions is all the more difficult. So it was a tough task that challenged me and so I got all the more tempted to take up the offer," she gushes.

In fact, Aastha loved the character so much that after auditions she fervently prayed to god to get the role. She tells us, "After auditioning, I just sort of fell in love with Reva. But there were a lot of hurdles for me to bag this role. For one, they wanted a fresh face and I had already done work, so my face was a known one. I was really nervous and I kept praying- please God, I want to do this role badly. This is what I've been waiting for. And now I'm really happy that I'm playing Reva's character!"
