Aakash Dabhade Bags ZEE5’s Shukranu

Having entertained viewers with original content in Hindi as well as in regional language, ZEE5 is now set to add another interesting original to its vast slate of content. As we earlier reported, the platform is bringing an original web film titled Shukranu. Produced by Reliance Entertainment and directed by Bishnu Dev Halder, the film stars Divyenndu Sharmaa, Shweta Basu Prasad and Sheetal Thakur in lead roles.

Now, as per our latest information, the makers have also roped in actor Aakash Dabhade, who has worked alongside Akshay Kumar in Boss. Dabhade is also known for movies like Ferrari Ki Sawari and Article 15.

For the uninitiated, Shukranu is set in 1976, the period when the Emergency rule was imposed in India. The film is based on the gruesome sterilisation campaign which was forced on men during the emergency period. The story revolves around a man named Inder (Divyendu) who gets into comical and humorous situations when he has to undergo sterilisation.
