A glimpse of Jhalak Dikhlaja

Catch the action of the first preview of Sony's Jhalak Dikhlaja, starting the 28th of September.

As the era of music on TV comes to an end, Sony gears up for the next season of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. At the recent press release of Jhalaak Dikhla Jaa 2, the celebrities of the show shined with glamour and glory and danced straight into the hearts of the crowd. Lets take a closer look at the stars of the latest season of what truly seems to be - Dancing with the Stars…

With Archana and Parmeet gracing last year’s Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, this year, the hosts’ hot seats have been taken by Rohit Roy and last year’s winner Mona Singh. "I gained a lot from last year's competition, and lost a lot too, just look how much weight I've lost!(laughter)"

When the royalties of dance get on the judging panel, the competition is sure to get fierce. The guru of dance and performance - Shaimak Davar, the jumping jack - Jitendra, and the chamma chamma queen - Urmila, make the perfect trio to judge the new season. “I am so glad to be on the other side of dance, where I will have to judge” quotes the stunning, Urmila Matondkar. Shaimak tries to ease the contestants by saying, “I am not looking for technical perfections here, I just want to make sure that these people improvise and do their best, and dance from the hearts.” Jitendra remembers the good old days when he was a dancer, “When I began my career, I wasn’t a dancer either, but you just need to learn the things you don’t.”

The stage was set on fire as the celebrities made their way in front of the crowd. Though, Cyrus Barucha and Mika Singh couldn’t make it to the press release, Sandhya Mrudul, Mini Mathur, and the rest surely made up for their absence. “mein sab ki band bajadungee” screams out Sandhya, to which Mini replied, “well, tum band bajana, mein orchestra bajaaungee”. Prachi Desai, seemed determined to take over the winning title, “until now, I have won hearts of moms, aunties, and grand mothers, now I want to win hearts of the youth of India.” Ronit Roy was given a warm welcome by brother - Rohit Roy. Rohit ran up to him giving him a hug and stating, “this may seem politically incorrect, but I am going to cheer for my brother the most!”. Sudha Chandhran cant wait to learn the different styles of dance, “Its easy to write on a blank paper, but to rewrite on something already written is tough. While dancing, I tend to put in classical moves, and my choreographer gets upset, and asks me to do it the right way.” All eyes were on Sonali Kulkarni, and why wouldn’t they be? Sonali has the winning choreographer - Toby. “I am nervous since people might be expecting a lot from me” says Sonali. The most over worked of all them all seemed Jai Bhanushali, “I am actually scared of what’s in store. But I am sure that I’ll put more hard work and win over hearts”.

Well, will these stars make it or break it? Catch all the action starting September 28th only on Sony Entertainment Television.
