Can you imagine romance without your mobile phone in today's times? Well, no! However, this was fortunately not the case in the 90s. Mobile phones were kept aside and couples would await that one missed call, that one call on the home landlines, would eagerly await the next date, would shy away when their gang would tease them etc.
And Sony TV's Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai has successfully managed to showcase the love of the 90s, with just the required amount of simplicity with the help of actors Randeep Rai (Sameer) and Ashi Singh (Naina).
And as a throwback to those simple times here are six times when Sameer and Naina showcased how romance was done in the 90s.
Taking Leisurely Evening Strolls
The 90s were a glorious time devoid of mobile phones and tablets. People actually spent quality time with their partners. Going for evening strolls with that special someone was a common thing. And Sameer and Naina remind us of the times when discovering the joy of college romance with one's new-found freedom was a simple joy of life. Sameer and Naina even make plans to go for outings with their friends just to spend time with each other. Now, how many of us did that?
Falling in love with just a glance (Love at first sight)
We've all seen movies where the hero would fall for the heroine after their eyes met just once during a chance encounter. Well, this too happened with young couples during the 90s, when a mere glance would be akin to having a full-fledged conversation. Just like how Naina fell in love with Sameer during their first meeting in the school. Any takers for this die hard romance?
Going on Movie dates

Going for movies together has been popular for a long time. The 90s witnessed the release of multiple iconic movies that highlighted love stories - Beta', Dil', etc. In the recent episodes of the show, Sameer too convinces Naina to go for a movie with him, but Naina is scared that they might get caught.
Bunking college
Who among us hasn't bunked college to go for a date with our girlfriend or boyfriend? It felt like an adventure to break rules and act like a rebel. It was a different kind of joy to give college a miss and go for a special outing with your loved one. Sameer, being the rebel, will be surely plan some surprise dates for his lady-love, Naina and will also manage to convince her to not be so goody goody and bunk college to spend time with her.
Romance in the college canteen
The college canteen has always been a hot-spot for kids to get together and relax over cold drinks and plates full of snacks. At times, some of us would bunk classes and chill over a plate of samosas. It was a preferred place for couples to sit together and munch on fritters over a romantic conversation. Sameer and his friends are often seen chilling in the canteen along with Naina at times. And how many times have we seen Sameer and Naina share eye locks and even dance and have fun in the canteen?
Passing love notes and chits in the classroom

What do you do when it's a boring lecture and you miss spending time with the one you love? You write a letter to convey your feelings or to send a message to your friend who is sitting away from you about how the lecture is boring you to death. Passing love notes to your partner through a packed classroom was a risky affair. One that could land a student in the Principal's office. But, it would always be worth the risk to see that smile on your partner's face. Sameer, being the mischievous brat, would eagerly indulge in such antics to make Naina smile.
