5 Reasons We Think 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?' Failed To Carry The Legacy Forward

The third season of the much-loved franchise, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? went on-air a couple of weeks back, and while it was in the news for various reasons, looks like the show failed to click well with the audience.

While the show does have a niche audience to itself, we think that there are various reasons which have caused an obstacle to the success of the show. And, here are the 5 reasons that we could think of for the same:

#1. The first season of 'Iss Pyaar...' set the bar too high

We have to admit this. When the first installment of the show hit the TV screens, Sanaya Irani aka Khushi and Barun Sobti aka Arnav had become a rage. While the second season, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon...Ek Baar Phir brought in a new couple and failed miserably, Barun's return had brought in high hopes. However, that did not happen as there were too many expectations.

#2. The negativity around the show from the very start

When the news of 'no Sanaya' hit the web, the viewers were highly disappointed and they started a petition which read #NoSanayaNoIpkknd. So, we are telling, even before the show could begin, it was outright given a red flag and wasn't given any benefit of doubt.

#3. Too much of repetition and flashbacks

One thing that had the audience disconnected from the show is how there have been too many flashbacks of the same memory time and again. On one side there are repetitive flashbacks of Chandni's (Shivani Tomar) kidnap and torture, on the other, there is Advay's memory of how when young, it was she who was responsible for all the pain he received.

#4. Haphazard and parallel plots

While we totally understand the concept of parallel plots given the number of characters in the show, it is a little difficult to connect the dots of what we see happening. The parallel plots are completely off-sync and that does not help the viewers to register a comprehensive story.

#5. There is still no 'pyaar' in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?'

We expect an intense love story in at least this franchise because of how things have been from the start. While there is no doubt that Advay's feelings are intense, that isn't what we see in the case of Chandni.

That was about the storyline and intensity. Now another factor that needs a mention here is how even after these many episodes into the show, their chemistry isn't sizzling and fierce, which is a major drawback.

There are too many situations that we think can be worked upon if the makers wish to make this one a success like the former.
