The much awaited Sony TV show, Ek Deewaana Tha, starring Vikram Singh Chauhan - Donal Bisht - Namik Paul will be going on-air tonight, and we are sure everyone is excited. With all the elements that the show has on board along with its alluring star cast, the show is definitely here to stay.
While the show does have supernatural elements and thrill, the makers have claimed it to be a romantic drama.
Read on as we list down the 5 reasons why we think Ek Deewaana Tha will certainly not be a typical Indian daily soap:
#1. Shot at beautiful locales without a mega budget

From all that we've seen in the promos, the locales that have been chosen are indeed beautiful and mesmerizing without going over the top. For a show that claims to be a daily soap and not any mega budget show, there is a great balance that has been maintained.
It's counterpart show Haasil on the other hand, has been shot all over the places given how it does not have a fixed set, and it definitely does look grand considering it has a huge budget. If recalled, Kya Qusoor Hai Amla Ka on Star Plus had a similar look and feel to what we see on Ek Deewaana Tha - in terms of being aesthetically beautiful without a mega budget.
#2. Amongst the first of its kind to be a daily soap

If we come to think of it, Ek Deewaana Tha will probably be the first supernatural romantic thriller to have taken the shape of a daily soap, and while it will be a task to maintain the suspense and bring the viewers back for the next episode. There was a time when shows like Aahat and Kya Haadsaa Kya Haqeeqat aired eon multiple days of a week but this is a different ball game completely as it takes the form of a daily soap as a romantic thriller. That itself is a reason you definitely should be on a lookout for it.

With actors like Vikram and Namik on board, it is a smart move to bring in a fresh face as the leading lady. While the two men are undoubtedly great at what they do and what they are doing, Donal too seems to have pulled off her character effortlessly thereby adding freshness to the show.
#4. Namik Paul in a never seen before avatar

We have seen Namik play the angry young man of sorts in Ek Duje Ke Vaaste, and now seeing him as a ghost is going to definitely be one experience. This one goes without saying that his character has the capability to take the show to another level altogether. Amidst all the romance and thrill, Namik's character seems to be standing out already and all the elements added make the show different.
#5. It is a finite series

Finite series more often than not, manage to justify the plot and stay true to what they initially started with. And, for a show that is a mix of elements like thrill and romance, a short and crisp story line is exactly what will help it become a hit and success with the masses.
Moreover, as Vikram also said, he wouldn't want the show to be extended because somewhere, upon extension, a finite series loses its charm and goes off track and ends up becoming draggy.
