5 amazing shows we loved as kids

Here is a list of five Indian light hearted shows that the younger generation should definitely watch.

Do you remember rushing back home from school, changing clothes as soon as possible and switching on your TV for that daily dose of Pokemon followed by Beyblade. This session would be accompanied by delicious evening snacks that your mother prepared. Those were the days. We used to cry if we missed an episode of our favourite show and would wait for it to be repeat telecasted late night. Apart from the cartoon, there were a few Indian Sit-coms we loved to watch. Here is a list of five Indian light hearted shows that the younger generation should definitely watch.  Don't pace towards your torrent client. All these shows can be streamed online for free!

1. Shaka Laka Boom Boom

The magic pencil was the dream of every kid on the block. Imagine a pencil that can create everything that you draw! Kinshuk Vaidya became the crush of every young girl after this show. Do you remember how we pestered out parents to get you a replica of the magic pencil? In schools like mine, I still remember kids carrying these pencils and the kid with the biggest pencil instantly became everyone's best friend!

2. Shararat

During the 90's, magic and visual effects were the only things needed to attract youngsters. Sharrarat was one of the most successful shows that were ever telecasted. We loved the way Jiya used her magic to solve her problems and how it would lead to another one. The entire Family of Shararat was just epic and we could relate to the family as our own.

3. Karishma Ka Karishma

The Hindi adaptation of Small Wonder' was just as great as its American sister. It was launched at the time when science fiction was an unexplored genre in India. I remember myself thinking so many time that how it would be great to have an android little sister!

4. Son Pari

Imagine how great life would be if we had a fairy watching over us and taking us to different realms that are even more beautiful. Son pari looked fabulous in her golden angel like outfit which suited her enough to convince us that she had powers. Frooti on the other hand was almost every school boys crush!

5. Sarabhai vs Sarabhai

Sarabhai is no doubt the best sit-com ever made in India. It stands strong while comparing it to other international sit-coms. This show had such great content and could be enjoyed by people of all ages. The Sarabhai Family is one of the best families seen on Indian TV. The characters of these shows are legends in the comedy genre.

These shows can't be compared to those which are running on TV now. The kids of this generation are missing out on really great show and producers should look back in time at such show and create something that can challenge them. I sense a binge watch coming your way. Can you think of more such epic show? Comment below!

Amazing shows!!
Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai was a class apart. Such subtle comedy and wonderful execution. Three cheers to this show!

Even Shaka Laka Boom Boom, Sonpari, Shararat were all amazing. I've watched all these.

You could have included Office-Office, Khichdi and Hum Paanch too!

These were all truly amazing. Otherwise these days in the name of comedy we have an unbearable screaming daya and junk headed comedy nights. Yuck!
