John Abraham has had quite a few of his films put on hold. Hook Ya
Crook, starring John and Genelia D'Souza, a David Dhawan
directorial, has been on hold for a while, and the last we heard of
Nagesh Kukunoor's Aashayein was its soundtrack released in May
2008. But while the latter has hope of being released in June or July
this year, 1-800 Love
is not as lucky, and is yet another John
starrer that has been put on hold.
Rumour has it that Abbas Tyrewalla's film has been facing financial
issues. The company financing it has apparently invested in a few other
films that have not done particularly well, namely Ajit Pal Mangat's Victory
and Ram Gopal Varma's Rann. As such, they are worried that 1-800
Love will not bring in recouping returns.
Abbas, though, has brushed this off as rubbish. According to producer
Madhu Mantena, the film is being put on hold because it needs to be
shot in summer again, and as such, they are waiting for the summer to
come around in London before they go back to shooting. Madhu insists
that John is quite a big name, and as the film also has other big names
like A R Rahman and Abbas Tyrewalla associated with it, he has no qualms
pertaining to the future of the film at Box Office.
John has given us hits like Dhoom and Dostana, so as the audience, we are sure that 1-800 Love will indeed do well. With high expectations attachedwe eagerly await the film's release!
