'Yeh Rishta...' fame Shirin Sewani to get married today

One would have probably expected or thought that lavish marriage celebrations will witness a decline owing to the pandemic but in several places, we are witnessing large gatherings in a wedding celebration like the usual. But there are some who understand the current scenario and we opting for a smaller gathering of people and still enjoy the occasion.

One of them is actor Shirin Sewani. The actor, who is best known for her roles in shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Naagin 2 and Kavach 2 among others is all set to tie the knot today with Udayan Sachan, an airline captain.

In an interview with Times of India, Sewani said, “I met Udayan at a common friend’s birthday party in October. We hit it off instantly. Later, our families met and thought that we were perfect for each other. I’ve always admired men in uniform and have booked one for life now (laughs!). We are different, yet similar in our approach to life. Besides, we were also looking for someone who could understand the demands of our professions. We will have a court marriage in Delhi following a small puja at home.”

About ending this dreadful 2020 on a positive note, she said, “The year has been challenging for everyone owing to the pandemic. So we decided to tie the knot this year itself, as we wanted the new decade to be marked with beautiful memories and not COVID fears.” Serwani clarifies that she always wanted a court marriage. “However, we will celebrate with our extended families and friends when times improve."

The couple will be flying to Dehradun, Sachan's parents' house on 7th December and will stay there for a while. “We are waiting for the situation to improve, so that we can fly somewhere other than the regular honeymoon destinations,” she concluded.
