Yashita and Vaishali - Diamonds evolved from pressure!!!

This week, SaReGaMaPa Challenge 2009 dedicates the episode to Parents. Parents of all the contestants were invited for the episode and the ones who could not make it were connected via the telephone giving them a chance to hear their children performing live.

It takes immense courage to take a bold step, and grit, determination and courage define two of the show's contestants, Yashita and Vaishali. The two participants have faced pain and sufferings in their lives but have fought against all odds to be at this position. Yashita lost her father at a very tender age and was raised by a single mother. As the young girl sings on stage, a tearful mother recounts the poignant tale of their days of struggle trying to make ends meet. But in spite of it all, Yashita is living her father's dream, to be a successful singer, thru' SaReGaMaPa.

Vaishali, Zee Marathi's SaReGaMaPa winner, has also been thru hardships in life. The young lady was disowned by her parents and belonging to a lower caste added to her woes. She considers her husband to be her soul mate and claims that it is only due to her husband's support and encouragement that she has reached to this point in her life.

The special guest on the show, Shafqat Amanat Ali was also moved to the core by the emotional tales. He gave an outstanding rendition of Mitwa along with Shankar Mahadevan. Shankar also gave a solo performance of 'Ma' from Taare Zameen Par, reducing all present to tears.
