Why Siddharth Arora was hesitant on playing Krishna in Krishan Kanhaiya?

A lot of actors do not want to take up mythological roles fearing that they might get typecasted and actor Siddharth Arora is no different.

The handsome man who is all set to essay the role of Lord Krishna on SAB TV's Krishan Kanhaiya was initially sceptical about bringing alive the mythological character on screen.

He said, "I had already worn those heavy costumes in Betaal Aur Sinhasan Battisi. So, portraying Lord Krishna meant wearing those heavy costumes again. People easily stereotype you when you do similar roles."

So why did the actor take up the role?

Siddharth elaborated, "Since this role required me to play the modern day Bansuri where I had to wear western outfits unlike the clichÃ©d, I agreed to do it."

Although the concept of this show sounds good, it's still quite monotonous. A similar show like this is "Neeli Chatri Waale" starring Himanshu Soni as Shiva. Even movies like OMG for that matter have already protrayed the same concept. This has been one persistant problem in Indian telly. Barely anyone comes up with a new concept and even if they do, still the execution is not good. I hope this show will break the cliches and set new benchmarks in the Indian telly industry.

Gurmeet played Raman in ramayanam and after that he played Maan in Geet.

Aham Sharma played karnan in mahabharat and is playing arjun in Manmarziyan now.

There can be found more actors, who has got good roles after playing a mythological character. It's all about directors view of you as an actor.
