Even though I would have had a choice to become an HR Manager, I would definitely have been a singer if I was not here as an actor. In fact, never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would one day become an actor. This show actually happened to me because of singing because the production house spotted me through Indian Idol, wherein I was one of the contestants.

Singing has been in my family..My greatest inspiration is my Naanu Padmashree Pt.Siyaram Tiwari, who is a great singer; my mother and father are also singers. My mother is my teacher till date, and it is she who looks after my singing. But nowadays I am too busy with my schedule and do not get time to concentrate on my singing and riyaaz. And my parents are a little upset with it as well.

I love any kind of music that touches my soul and heart. It can be anything including classical, Carnatic, Bollywood or even western. And there are a lot of singers who are my favorites.

I was really active in my academic days and used to participate in singing competitions and bagged lot of prizes. Apart from that I have recorded once or twice in studios too.

One song that I always hum these days is 'Sheila Ki Jawaani', even though I am not so attracted towards it. The song is there everywhere today, so much so that it is tough to remove that song from my head.  I keep singing that song quite often (smiles).

I believe that singing is a learning process and you learn the art, for that matter any art, throughout your lifetime. I would love to tell all the aspiring singers to continue with Riyaaz, because today versatility in voice is in great demand, and without proper practice it is difficult to get that.

Well, Neha has really opened her heart to the readers, and we do hope that the girl gets a chance to lend her voice for a song in her show!!
