Vicky Kaushal Recalls Childhood Birthday Parties Ahead of 32nd Birthday amid Lockdown

Actor Vicky Kaushal is currently in self-isolation at his Mumbai house due to the nationwide lockdown. The actor along with his actor-brother Sunny Kaushal is making the most of this time by cooking, reading and working out at home. The two brothers have also been helping their darling mother by cleaning fans and dusting at home.

Vicky will be turning a year older on May 16 and will not be able to celebrate his birthday due to the lockdown. Reacting to the same, he states that he never thought that everyone would be in a situation where things literally come to a standstill.

Ahead of his 32nd birthday, he recalls his childhood birthday parties when there were no cell phones to click selfies and no pressure to post them online. “There were no cell phones to take selfies and record the event, nor peer pressure to post them. It was just about having a good time with friends. Those simple days from my childhood are special” he told Mumbai Mirror.

However, Vicky asserts that staying at home is of paramount importance right now :  “Look at what people, who are away from home or don’t have a home are going through, including the frontline workers of the pandemic. By staying home, we can help flatten the curve.”

The actor also stepped ahead to raise funds for daily wage workers suffering due to the lockdown. He invited his fans to donate for the cause and announced that the 3 lucky winners will win a virtual games night with him.

“Hi guys! How does a virtual hang out with me for a super fun game fan sound to you?” He wrote along with the video, “Loading... A virtual games night with me! We’ll get to know each other, play some dumb charades and have a great evening. Sounds fun na? Promise you it will be!”

Earlier, Vicky donated a sum of Rs 1 crore to the PM CARES Fund to help the needy hit by the coronavirus outburst. “While I’m blessed enough to be seated with my loved ones in the comforts of my home, there are many who are not as fortunate. In this time of crisis, I humbly pledge to contribute an amount of Rs. 1 crore to PM-CARES and Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund,” read his Instagram post.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vicky has a barrage of big banner films lined up for the year 2020. Talking about his next film Ashwatthama, Vicky said, "We take it on the floors next year. Aditya and Ronnie are attempting something that has not been made in Bollywood before. It’s ambitious and huge, I’m raring to start the journey." 

Speaking of Karan Johar’s magnum opus Takht, Vicky says: “It was a dream to be a part of this period drama. I’ve admitted the work of all the artists who are a part of this film."
