Vicky Kaushal has carved a niche for himself in the film industry over the course of an impressive 11-year career, marked by stellar performances in acclaimed movies like Masaan, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and Sardar Udham. Recently in an interview, he shed light on his affinity for portraying characters associated with the Indian Army, a theme recurrent in his filmography.

As he prepares for the release of his upcoming film, Sam Bahadur, directed by Meghna Gulzar and featuring co-stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh, Vicky Kaushal opened up about the allure of donning the Indian Army uniform. Beyond the cinematic realm, the actor revealed a deep connection and appreciation for the real-life heroes in uniform.

Vicky shared talking to Pinkvilla, "I really enjoy when I get to wear the Indian Army uniform for my characters because I get to interact with the Indian Army a lot." Contrary to the serious demeanor often associated with military personnel, the actor divulged that they are, in reality, whimsical and playful. Drawing from personal experiences during the shoot of Sam Bahadur, Vicky disclosed that he lived with the Maratha Regiment near Pune for three days, immersing himself in the camaraderie and lifestyle of the soldiers.

During this stint, the actor found himself engaged in moments of sheer enjoyment—fun, parties, storytelling, and banter. The soldiers, often perceived as stern figures, displayed a different facet of their personalities, revealing a playful and lively side. Vicky expressed his delight at being treated not as an outsider but as one of their own, emphasizing the familial bond that transcends the on-screen portrayal.

"I am like a kid in the candy store when I am around the army as I get to listen to such fascinating stories, such heroic stories from them," Vicky enthused. He emphasized the untapped potential of storytelling within the army backdrop, emphasizing that the families of these real-life heroes are equally deserving of recognition.

Vicky Kaushal who is currently gearing up for the release of 'Sam Bahadur' will next grace the screens alongside Shah Rukh khan in 'Dunki'.
