Srinagar, Dec 7 (IANS) As she enthralled the audience in this summer capital Monday evening, US pop singer, Terra Naomi also sent a positive message - that we must unite to save the planet from the perils of climate change.

Hundreds of music lovers turned out Monday evening on the banks of the Dal Lake to hear Terra Naomi, who is here to create awareness on climate change.

The audience at the concert at the Sher-e-Kashmir Convention Complex on the banks of the lake, mostly comprising the local youth, not only voiced their admiration for her music, but also assured that they were conscious of the dangers confronting the fragile ecology of their homeland.

As she ended her concert with the famous lines 'Say It is Possible', a well known Kashmiri singer, Wahid Jeelani, sang Terra's song in the local language.

To give a local touch to her performance here Monday, she wore a Kashmiri shawl.

She said the reason why she chose Kashmir for her campaign on climate change was because the effects of this dangerous phenomenon were visible in Kashmir.

Besides the state Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora, the chairman of the pro-independence Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik was also present during the concert.

'Malik's presence at least proved that we might differ on many things, but we must unite cutting across political ideologies to save the planet,' said a youth who attended the concert.
