This actress roped in as 'third wheel' between Salim-Anarkali in Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali

The promo for Colors' much awaited period drama Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali was released over the weekend and was welcomed with positive responses. 

The scale of the show as well as glimpses of the stellar ensemble crew have only added to the show's buzz.

Already having roped in names like Piyush Sahdev, Gurdeep Kohli, Shahbaz Khan, Meherzan Mazda and Aruna Irani among others, the show has another entry now- that of the third wheel between Salim and Anarkali and also the main reason for the duo's affair to get exposed. 

And actress Ankita Srivastava, who in films like Welcome Back and Sarabjit, will be making her small scree debut with the Colors' show. 

Ankita will be seen playing a courtesan named Firdaus, just like Anarkali. But she will be very materialistic and somebody who is more attracted to a person's wealth and status, than his heart.

"Firdaus is a courtesan who believes in falling in love with status rather than the person. I play a very crucial role in the love story between Prince Salim and Anarkali. This is the first time that I am trying my hand at television. The look and feel of the character is very challenging," revealed Ankita.

She also went on to add, "I know it is an unusual path to make my debut on TV, but for me, character satisfaction is of utmost priority. The makers have made sure that while I carry my bold image as Firdaus, I bring elegance along with it. Firdaus is a charmer and extremely pretty. I am looking forward to start shooting for the show."

The show goes on air from the 1st of October.
