Sherleen Dutt, who is known for her stints in reality shows like “AFL (Anything For Love)”, “KINK - Kiss Ishq N Konnections” and “Honey Trap Squad”, feels that though the industry has progressed in terms of gender equality there is still a lot that needs to be done and addressed.

Speaking on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which is observed on March 8, she said, “As Women's Day approaches, it's a time to reflect on the progress made in the journey towards gender equality while acknowledging the work that still lies ahead. For me, Women's Day represents a celebration of the resilience, achievements, and contributions of women across the globe. It's a reminder of the importance of advocating for women's rights and creating a world where every woman can thrive.”

“In the entertainment industry, the question of gender equality is particularly pertinent. While progress has been made in addressing issues such as pay disparity and representation, there is still much work to be done. Women continue to face challenges such as sexism, ageism, and limited opportunities for complex and diverse roles. It's crucial for the industry to actively promote gender diversity and provide platforms for women to showcase their talents and stories,” she added.

Sherleen feels that though the conversation around women's empowerment has gained momentum, it is essential to ensure that it translates into tangible action, especially in workplaces. She further said, “While there have been advancements in promoting gender diversity and inclusion, there are still systemic barriers and biases that hinder women's advancement in many industries. True empowerment means creating environments where women have equal opportunities for leadership, mentorship, and career growth.”

She believes that, as a woman, her strengths lie in resilience, empathy, and determination. She said, “These qualities have helped me navigate challenges and pursue my passions with courage and conviction. In life, my ability to empathize with others, communicate effectively, and multitask has been instrumental in building meaningful relationships and achieving my goals. I firmly believe that embracing and leveraging these strengths is essential for every woman to fulfill her potential and make a positive impact in the world.”

Sharing her plans for Women's Day, she said, “This Women's Day, my plans revolve around celebrating the achievements of women who have paved the way for progress and advocating for those whose voices still need to be heard. Whether it's attending events, supporting women-owned businesses, or engaging in conversations about gender equality, I am committed to being an active participant in the movement towards a more inclusive and equitable society.”

“Women's Day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of prioritizing women's rights, empowerment, and equality. By recognizing and celebrating the unique strengths and contributions of women, we can collectively work towards creating a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive and fulfill her potential. Let's continue to advocate, support, and uplift one another as we strive for a more just and equitable world for all,” Sherleen concluded.
