Whether it was the Indian Hockey team leaving a mark to athletes like PV Sindhu, Neeraj Chopra, and several others bringing home the medals from the Tokyo Olympics 2021, this past month was quite exciting for us as a country. Therefore, the upcoming Independence Day is going to be quite special for us as a nation. Although the patriotism around August 15 is always at its peak, this year it is just going to be different. And while there are different ways to celebrate the day, the one way that we'd like to suggest would be the Binge-watch way. Indian audience has been introduced to some really interesting shows that evoke the feeling of nationalism. So without any further ado, let us check out the five digital shows that are perfect to binge-watch on Independence Day.

Code M (ALTBalaji)

1

Starring Jennifer Winget, Tanuj Virwani, Rajat Kapoor, and more, Code M is the story of what seems like an open and shut case. However, as the facts unfold, Major Monica Mehra, played by Jennifer Winget realizes that the case is way more complex than it appears to be. We believe that this series is a must-watch and will have you hooked in no time. Watching a female officer in uniform, striving hard for the nation is something you shouldn't miss. The show streams on ALTBalaji and has been one of the most successful shows from the streaming giant's kitty.

Bard of Blood (Netflix)

2

Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and Jay Dev Banerjee and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, this series starring Emraan Hashmi is about Indian spies who try to get their hands on the Taliban’s terrorist plans through a very risky mission in Balochistan. The series is gripping and Emraan’s performance is superb as well, a must-watch in our opinion. The series will evoke respect for those men who leave everything and serve the nation.

The Test Case (ALTBalaji)

d3

The Test Case is the story of Captain Shikha Sharma, (played by Nimrat Kaur) who happens to be the only woman in a group of Indian Army officers training to join the Special Forces. Since she is also the first woman to be training for it, she happens to be ‘the test case’. The story is based on the challenges she faces and overcomes despite all biases throughout her journey. If you’re looking for motivation this Independence Day, this series is for you. Also kudos to ALTBalaji for giving us such an inspirational show.

1962: The War In The Hills (Disney+ Hotstar)

d4

This series is based on the battles fought in Galwan Valley and Rezang La where 125 Indian Army Soldiers were challenged with defending against a People’s Liberation Army that was 3000 strong. Starring Abhay Deol, Sumeet Vyas, Rohan Gandotra, and more, this series is extremely inspiring and throws light at events not many have heard or recall of. The fact that there are still men who choose martyrdom to serve the nation is a thought-provoking idea.

The Family Man (Amazon Prime)

d5

The Family Man is a popular series starring Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani in the lead roles. It is the story of a middle-class man who portrays himself as a regular government servant but secretly works as an intelligence officer. Filled with mystery, suspense, and action, The Family Man is a complete package, and we think it will definitely add you to the Manoj Bajpayee fanbase once you watch it. Though this show is all masala, you can't forget the fact that there are many "Family Men" in our nation.
