The 'Black Hammer' Universe is Getting Bigger With 'Colonel Weird'

No, not the DC or Marvel Comics we are talking about here but the Dark Horse Comics. The comics are expanding its most famous Black Hammer universe with the launch of Colonel Weird: Cosmagog.

The mini-series will be a four issues series by Jeff Lemire and Tyler Cook and this move comes in as the Entertinamen'ts own trans media adaptation of the universe continues to get bigger.

As the names suggest, the series will center on Randall Weird, the former NASA astronaut whose trip to the Para-Zone at a relatively young age made him a little. The character has been a mainstay of the property since its debut.

In a statement, Lemire, who co-created the Black Hammer property with artist Dean Ormston in 2016, said, “Colonel Weird has been my favorite Black Hammer character since Dean Ormston and I created him. I’ve always wanted to do a series where the storytelling would echo Weird's unique mind, and unique perspective. Tyler Crook’s work more than lives up to the challenge. This is a deep dive into Colonel Weird’s past and his future.”

Crook added, “I think Jeff and Dean have created one of the most interesting and heartfelt superhero universes that we've seen in decades. I feel lucky to get the chance to contribute to the world.”
