The Supreme Court has criticized producer Ekta Kapoor concerning the row over web series 'XXX,' Court has slammed the producer Ekta Kapoor, for 'objectional content' in the web series. The apex court said that the producer is polluting the minds of the youth.

The Supreme Court was hearing a petition filed by Kapoor challenging the arrest warrants issued against her for allegedly insulting soldiers and hurting the feelings of their families in her web series ALTBalaji.

According to a report by PTI a bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and C T Ravikumar said, “Action must be taken. You are polluting the minds of this country’s young people. It is open to everyone. Everyone has access to OTT (Over The Top) content. What kind of options do you give the people? “On the contrary, you are polluting the minds of our children,”

In the defence, senior advocate Rohatgi said the content is subscription-based and that there is freedom of choice in this country. In response, the bench said, “Everytime you travel to this court. We don't appreciate this. We will put a cost on you for filing such a petition. Mr Rohatgi, please convey this to your client.”

The bench further continued saying, “Just because you can afford and hire the services of good lawyers this court is not for those who have voices. This court works for those who don't have voices. If these people who have all kinds of facilities, if they cannot get justice then think of the situation of this common man. We have seen the order and we have our reservations.”

The court made the remark after senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, who was representing Kapoor, stated that a petition had been filed with the Patna high court, but there was no hope that the matter would be heard soon.

The warrant was issued by a trial court in Bihar’s Begusarai after an ex-serviceman, Shambhu Kumar, filed a complaint. Kumar claimed in his 2020 complaint that the series ‘XXX’ (Season-2) contained several objectionable scenes involving a soldier’s wife.

BiloxiBlues 3 months ago I couldn’t care less what any “Court” declares. I have always submitted that Ekta Kapoor is full of rubbish and incapable of making anything worth watching.

The fact that she has fooled the Indian TV viewer for this long is a crime unto itself. I’ll repeat what I’ve said before: TV production in her hands is all repetitive nonsense, brainless story lines. There’s still time for her to pursue a more worthwhile career, and leave this to more capable, artistic people. She has seriously dumbed down Indians where the opposite is badly needed.

India is a land of great literary giants and it doesn’t deserve this farce being churned out in the name of entertainment. The power is in the hands of the Indian population. The sooner they turn their back to this stupidity, the sooner they can liberate themselves of the likes of Ekta and her “Ambassador car” of TV shows.

Before anyone accuses me, my position is completely apolitical and I am not a crazy old conservative kook. I am someone who despises, with extreme passion, mediocrity thrust down the throat of people unaware that they deserve content that is far more intelligent and entertaining.
