Niti Taylor has been dropping a lot of stylespiration off late and we cannot help but follow her around virtually on her Brussels trip. We noticed a pattern in her dressing and it looks like she has adopted the Matching Separates trend for the time being. Matching Separates was a huge trend in the past year but there's no reason it cannot be brought back. While summer is over in most Indian suburbs, we can always lust for warmer weather and the ensembles that come with it.

Heavy Patterns + Less Accessories

Seperates with intricate patterns or heavy details (eg: lace) should be paired with minimalist, aesthetic jewellery. Stud earrings and very little or no arm jewellery. You do not want your accessories clashing with your outfit as it looks too busy.

Pair prints with neutral tones

We're taking a leaf out of Niti Taylor's book for adding a pair of white sneakers to the wardrobe. The shoes are perfect for the outfit and it does a good job of not disturbing the outfit. Avoid bright accessories with this look.

Minimise the gap

We all have days when we are feeling bloated or have a tummy bulge to conceal. For days like that, minimising the gap between your top and skirt or top and pants combination is a great idea. Wear the bottoms a little above the waist. Separates don't always have to be mid-riff bearing. Niti's floral separates are chic and they smartly conceal the mid-riff region in spite of the cropped top.

Avoid A-line patterns with solids

While picking a solid colour for matching separates, steer clear of long A-line skirts, especially if you're not tall. It creates an unflattering silhouette. Try a body-con skirt instead.
