Balancing her acting talent with her academic commitments is a learning experience for teenage actress Digangana Suryavanshi, who is also a budding lyricist.

A student of class 10, she realises the importance of studies.

"Boards are important, but if you have a different quality in yourself, you need to take it forward. You cannot leave your talent just because of something else. My music career and acting has been a good opportunity. It's a learning experience to be able to balance everything," Digangana told IANS.

Last seen in Star Plus' "Ruk Jaana Nahi" as Sanchi's sister, the young actress has earlier been a part of shows like "Krishna Arjun", "Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat" and "Shakuntala". She was recently roped in for Zee TV's show "Qubool Hai", to play the lead's sister, Nuzhat.

Playing a girl from a Muslim background, makes this role different for Digangana.

"Its a new show with a Muslim background. I have done the first shoot and it was a completely different experience. I am hoping that this continues," she said.

"Nuzhat is a team leader. She is very passionate. She wants to be a fashion icon, but her personality doesn't allow her to be one. Her basic intention is to change herself so that she can can become one (a fashion icon)," she added.

On the personal front, Digangana is also a budding lyricist.

She will be launching her book of lyrics Monday, which also happens to be her birthday.

"The book has 31 songs and all of them have been written by me. My mother encouraged me to start writing. I thought my book will be for India, but my publisher said it has to be for an international audience as it has English lyrics. It 's called 'Waves: The Endless Emotions'," she said.
