Sreejita De on her marriage being postponed again due to the pandemic

The pandemic has continued to be a reality for a while now and if there is one thing that it has constantly led to affect the most - it is planned weddings of multiple couples.

Just like many others, public figures also have their big planned weddings but pandemic led to multiple delays and it continues. One of these has been actor Sreejita De who was all set to marry German beau Michael Blohm Pape. 

But apart from the marriage, the couple went through some tough time recently too where they tested positive for COVID-19 an fought through it. Talking about it with ETimes TV, De said, “Both Michael and I tested positive for COVID-19 last month. We always knew that we would support and love each other through all the ups and downs of life, and fighting this virus together has made our bond stronger. It made us reexamine our priorities.”

About their relationship, De said, “We met in January 2019, when I had gone to a restaurant with my friends. Michael, too, happened to be there, and I found him really cute. So, I walked up to him and we exchanged numbers. However, it was only two months later that I sent him a text message and we started meeting. As they say, the rest is history.”

She added, “Ever since we got engaged, my parents have been asking me about our marriage (laughs!). We had planned to tie the knot in December 2020, but postponed it due to the pandemic. Since the situation continues to be grim, we plan to get married next year. We will have an Indian shaadi early next year and a German wedding in summer.”

De plans to relocate to Germany in a few years. “Michael and I have set up an import business and want to establish it while pursuing our respective careers. He shifted base to India for work in 2018 and plans to stay back for another five years. After that, we will move to Germany for good. Till then I want to spend quality time with my loved ones, do good work and eat a lot of Indian food,” she concluded.
