Sonam's Loss, Katrina's Gain!

Sonam Kapoor comes across as a promising newcomer, but due to the unfortunate fate of 'Saawariya' and 'Delhi 6,' Sonam has yet to truly prove herself. That's one of the reasons Sonam truly wanted to get the lead role in Dibakar Bannerjee's next film.  Her father, Anil Kapoor, also wanted his daughter to work with Bannerjee.  He tried his best by calling up the director and showing him Sonam's work in an international project.  Sonam also did all she could to get the role and even contacted a mutual friend, Abhay Deol, but all the efforts went in vain when Bannerjee selected Katrina Kaif for the role.

The news is that Dibakar Bannerjee also expressed a desire to work with Sonam as well, but he considered her a classic Indian beauty.  However, his new film requires a girl with an accent in the lead role.  If foreign accent is a requirement for the film,  who else but the gorgeous Katrina could fulfill this requirement with ease? Hence, Sonam's loss became Katrina's gain.

All the best to Katrina for the new movie!  And all the best to Sonam for her upcoming projects! We are sure both ladies have a long way to go in Bollywood!
