Balkaur Singh, the father of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, has accused the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Mann of harassment following the birth of his second son.
After losing their only son, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Sidhu Moose Wala, nearly two years ago, Balkaur Singh and his wife, Charan Kaur, welcomed a baby boy on March 17.
Taking to Instagram, Balkaur Singh expressed gratitude for their new arrival but lamented the government's harassment, claiming they demanded documentation to prove the child's legitimacy.
The couple resorted to IVF (In vitro fertilisation) to conceive the baby, a detail Balkaur Singh omitted. The government's Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, implemented in December 2021, imposes strict age limits for IVF procedures, which might be a point of contention.
Asserting his compliance with all legal requirements, Balkaur Singh urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to cease the harassment and offered to cooperate with any inquiries.

Despite his untimely demise, he made a foray into politics the same year, contesting the Punjab Assembly elections on a Congress ticket from Mansa, albeit unsuccessfully.
