Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and director Rohit Shetty are set to deliver an adrenaline-packed thriller series titled "Indian Police Force," where Shilpa, alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi, is actively participating in promotional activities. In a recent revelation, Shilpa disclosed that the roots of their collaboration go back 14 years, when she was initially approached for one of the Golmaal films.
In a candid conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Shilpa shared the intriguing connection between her and filmmaker Rohit Shetty, tracing it back to their fathers' friendship. Shilpa's father, having assisted Rohit’s father in the films "Yaadon Ki Baaraat" and "Rafoo Chakkar," laid the foundation for their destined collaboration.
Revealing the missed opportunity from 14 years ago, Shilpa expressed her initial disappointment, especially witnessing the phenomenal success of the Golmaal franchise. However, she conveyed her current excitement for their collaboration in the present, saying, "I am glad we are doing this amazing project together now."
Rohit Shetty, shedding light on casting Shilpa Shetty for "Indian Police Force," shared that the character was initially written for a male lead. However, a last-minute decision led them to approach Shilpa, who was then shooting for her film "Sukhee" in Chandigarh. Despite her tight schedule with "India’s Got Talent," Shilpa embraced the challenge, impressing Rohit with her dedication, even breaking her leg during an action scene.
During the trailer launch, Rohit commended Shilpa's commitment, citing an incident where she suffered a fracture, leading to a three-month hiatus. Despite the challenges, their collaboration promises to bring forth a gripping series with Shilpa Shetty's relentless dedication shining through each frame.
