Shahid Kapoor Reacts to Hiking his Fees to 40 Crores

Shahid Kapoor is currently on cloud nine with the super success of his recently released film Kabir Singh. While the actor has received accolades from all sectors, there are a few in the audience who have criticized his character for encouraging toxic masculinity.

In the film, Shahid plays an alcoholic surgeon who is on the path of self destruction, after his girlfriend is forced to marry another man. Despite mixed reviews from the audience, the film has entered it's fifth week and is still running house full. As per the recent box office collections, the film has managed to become the biggest blockbuster of 2019 and is also touted to be Shahid Kapoor’s biggest solo film till date.

If latest reports are to be believed, after this stupendous success Shahid has hiked his fee to a whopping 35-40 crores and has demanded Rs 40 crores for the remake of Telugu hit Jersey starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath.

Now, clearing the air about hiking his fees post the Kabir Singh's success, in an interview with an entertainment portal, Shahid has revealed, “I have to sign a film to receive any money. I think the only people who are making money are Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani. I have exactly the same bank balance I had before Kabir Singh, I have to sign another project before I get paid."

Kabir Singh, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani is the remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda and has collected a total of Rs 270.43 crore at the box office in thirty three days.
