It is ridiculous that people want him pardoned. He has broken the law and is being served the punishment. So whats wrong? Who would come out for a common man with the same situation?

The reasoning that it's 20 years is gross! It is only giving an invitation to criminals - commit a crime, the courts in our country will take decades to reach a decision, by then it would be too old a matter to warrant a punishment!

And what's all this rubbish about his kids and wife suffering???? That woman Manyata married Sanjay Dutt well knowing his situation and well prepared for the consequences, even starting a family at that! So whats the hue and cry now? Sick!

And people who say that "Oh, he was just FOOLISH to be in possession of an illegal arm", it is grossly trivializing Sanjay Dutt's offense! Why do they overlook the fact that how he received the arms is what is the key. He allowed his premises to be used for terrorist's wrong intentions - which was to distribute the arms in anticipation of communal riots triggering after the blasts. So this Gold Hearted Human Being befriended these wrong people and was well aware of the devastation they were planning - even if not "well aware", even a kid would smell something wrong in such a deed.

I really don't know when people will get over this blind infatuation to film stars.

ppl will always support others of their own kind. the parliament is full of ppl with criminal backgrounds and the govt is involved in countless scams what more can be expected from such ppl.

The people who are defending him needs to to put in jail for being plain stupid morons. What bloody suffering has he had for the past 20 yrs? he's lived his life king size, even though its way too late he has to pay for the crime he's done. Bollywood is filled with dumb & dumber celebrities, sheesh.

If court orders that whoever is asking for his pardon will share his part of punishment and let us say each of them will stay for 2-3 months in jail.. all will run away .

So because he is Sanjay Dutt he can have politicians and celebs go out of their way to get him off the hook? I am not saying whether he is guilty or innocent but the from what i read in this article it seems that these ppl are biased and Sanjay is getting special treatment.

This is just rich! Now the politicians of India decide who should go to jail and who should not?? NOT the court? Please!! If this was a regular person will Jaya Bachchan come out to speak for them?? Short answer, NO!

Also, what is all this about his so called "suffering"? How can someone who spent the last 20 years free and doing what he wants suffer? Was he in jail for 10 of those 20 years? It's a joke! This pretty much makes a mockery of the Indian justice system that MP's are asking for a pardon for someone who committed a crime, based solely on the fact that he is a celebrity! What a joke!<br/>Just coz you "change" doesn't mean you get pardoned for crimes you committed before you "changed"?? Then a lot of American criminals on death row would get a pardon, based solely on the fact that they have now "changed"! But does that change the fact that they had killed someone? No!

r u freaking kidding me? wow, he needs to go to jail, its not fair. he had 20 years of freedom, look at his life, his got money wife and kids, what did the people who got hurt or died in the blast got??? stupid actors defending a gangster?? so what if he is acting like a saint today, what he did years ago can not be erased. gosh
