My career seems like a reverse trajectory; I was doing better in my early days. It is an honest confession, not that it's not there now, but it was better back then. Call it beginner's luck. But yes, I am ever thankful for what comes my way because each work that I pick up creates a stir, and I am thankful.

Tell us a little about Angithee, your film, and what made you do it?

Mr Rahhat Kazmi is the only reason I am a part of that film. He is sensible, empathetic, appreciative, and extremely easy with his ways, so there is always scope for some magic to happen in the scene, and somehow, there was always magic in every scene.

How was it working opp Shafaq Naaz?

She is a fantastic actress and an even better co-artist. Right from the word go, she was smooth and right in the skin of it. I just got plain lucky to have her in the movie as my co-actress. We had fun moments in between shots, and the bond we struck was a huge takeaway from the project other than the gravity of the film itself.

One thing about Dabangi that made you say yes instantly and take up the show?

I just got hired and showed up on set, Aot much contemplation happened. It was so sudden, and I didn't expect them to sign me up. Sometimes, I feel people around me see more potential in me than I do myself, which is great, but I wish I saw myself through their eyes, too, more often than not.
