Rhea Chakraborty JAILED for 14 Days; She Shattered-Lied-Confessed: Details- Photos

As per fresh reports coming in, Rhea Chakraborty has been given 14 days jail term by the magistrate. (Update Time 08:50 PM IST)

Riya Chakraborty's was taken under arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau team today (September 08, 2020) in the evening and was immediately taken to the Sion Hospital for her Coronavirus test and medical check-up.

Within few minutes of her medical test, her COVID-19 reports came negative and soon after that she left the hospital along with the NCB officials and the Mumbai Police Officials to return to the NCB Office for the video conferencing with the magistrate.

Upon arriving at the NCB office, Rhea was presented before the magistrate for judicial custody. The process took started at 7:30 PM IST and was conducted through video- conference.

A source close to the NCB has revealed that, Sameer Wankhede, NCB officer was leading the whole case who exposed Riya's lies with his questions. NCB official KPS Malhotra also asked the actress many such questions that caused her to shatter and then lie and eventually she confess.

During the video-conference, the magistrate ordered a 14 Days Judicial Custody to Rhea. Court proceedings are underway and her team has already filed for bail. At the moment court is hearing out her bail plea and shall soon pronounce order. (Update Time 09:15 PM IST)

"Confronted with documentary evidence, the actress Rhea Chakraborty conceded she was in touch with drug peddlers who were also supplying 'buds' to various other Bollywood personalities including well-known actors, directors and producers", highly placed sources in the NCB told IANS

"Whatever she told was sufficient for the arrest. We have arrested her, it means we had enough": Mutha Ashok Jain, Deputy DG, South-Western Region, NCB.

Rhea Chakraborty has been arrested under Section 8(c), 20(b), 27(a), 28 and 29 of NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985). The actress has been arrested for purchase, possession and use of drugs.

According to CNN-News18 sources, NCB will not oppose bail of Rhea Chakraborty. Also, it is being reported that according to the sections mentioned, the maximum punishment for Rhea can be up to one year in jail.

"The arrest of Rhea Chakraborty by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is a big win for Bihar," said Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey.

"We are now waiting for the lifting of the shadow of mystery over Sushant Singh Rajput's tragic death," Pandey said on Tuesday evening. Rhea was arrested by the NCB months after the mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14.

Pandey further said that it is now clear that Rhea has some connection with drug peddlers. "I personally have deep sympathy for the family of Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea's arrest is a step towards justice for Sushant. The entire country wants to know the real reason behind Sushant's death," Pandey said.
