Ranveer Singh's encounter with wife Deepika Padukone mirrors his first meeting with Anushka Sharma: Here's how

In a highly anticipated moment, the Bollywood power couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, made their debut appearance as a couple on Karan Johar's talk show, Koffee with Karan 8. During their candid chat with the host, Ranveer shared an endearing anecdote about the first time he met Deepika, and it felt strikingly similar to a story from his past involving Anushka Sharma.

Amidst the conversation, Ranveer reminisced about their first encounter, which took place at Sanjay Leela Bhansali's residence in Versova. This was during their collaboration on the film "Ram-Leela." Ranveer vividly described how Deepika appeared "angelic" during that initial meeting.

Ranveer's recollection of the moment he first saw Deepika was filled with charm. He recounted, "I was sitting at the table, and the door was there. He has these heavy doors, and he lives by the seaside. So these heavy doors open, and the gush of wind comes from the sea. And, she is in a white chikankari like this embodiment of simplicity," he shared.

Interestingly, this narrative bore a striking resemblance to a past incident involving Anushka Sharma. Ranveer had appeared on the same talk show with Anushka, where he had shared a similar story about their first meeting. 

The parallels were evident as Ranveer's words, including phrases like "gush of wind," mirrored his description of meeting Deepika. In the case of Anushka, Ranveer had charmingly stated, "I saw 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi,' and I was completely mesmerized by Anushka. We go out for dinner, we are with this model, and all I can talk about was just Anushka." He continued, "He opens the door... their doors are heavy, you know, these opulent doors. So this huge door opens, and this wind flies in my face, and right in front of me is Anushka Sharma."

While on Koffee with Karan, Ranveer also shared an intimate detail about his marriage proposal to Deepika, which occurred during a romantic vacation in the Maldives. 

On the professional front, Ranveer Singh was last seen in "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" and is set to take over the mantle in Farhan Akhtar's "Don 3," succeeding Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, is juggling various projects, including Siddharth Anand's "Fighter," a bilingual sci-fi action film titled "Kalki 2898 AD," and "Singham Again."
