Ranbir Kapoor's joke on Alia's baby bump doesn't sit well with the netizens- Here's why

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor recently addressed the audience and fans in a live interaction session which was also joined by Ayan Mukerji as they talked about their film Brahmastra.

Fan accounts on Instagram, Reddit, and other social media sites posted a clip of their discussion in which Ranbir was heard interrupting Alia as she talked about attending Brahmastra promotions. Alia was seen clad in a baggy t-shirt paired with a pair of shorts. 

Alia had said, “We will do it (promote the film extensively). If you are asking why we are not phailoed (spreading) everywhere… right now our focus is…” when RK chimed in and said as he looked at Alia’s pregnancy belly, “Well, I can see somebody has phailoed.” After Alia looked shocked, Ranbir patted her back and said, “Joke.”

Reacting to the clip, on Instagram user wrote, “This is sad to watch.” Another person said, “That wasn’t funny at all.” A fan called it a ‘disgusting joke’,.

Many of them also talked about how it was body shaming and hurt their sentiments. 

A teaser for the Brahmastra song Dance Ka Bhoot was just released. Other songs from the film have also been a hit and fans are loving it. The eagerly anticipated movie is due out on September 9. Additionally, it features performers like Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in key roles.
