Rakul Preet Singh is currently gearing up for her upcoming film titled 'Chhatriwali'. The actress is on a promotional spree for the same as she recently opened up about sex education in school. The Doctor G actress recalled how they were all just giggly and shy to ask any questions.

Rakul discussed the need to make sex education obligatory in schools in an interview with a news portal.  She further stated that they recognise the value of sex education, but they prefer to brush over it. She claims that the film's trailer implies that it is required and that there is a reason it is covered in textbooks and the curriculum. Speaking to News18, Rakul further emphasized that we cannot avoid sexual development because it is part of the natural course of human development. In the end, it comes down to biology and science, and it has something to do with health.

She continued by stating that there is no set age at which to begin educating individuals. She asserted that we shouldn't educate a youngster after they have already internalized certain taboos. According to Rakul, a youngster enters puberty between the ages of 13 and 14, at which point they must be well informed about their sexual health. That is the appropriate age to begin educating them because informed children do not make poor judgements.

Rakul also remembered her personal involvement with a sex education class she had taken in high school. The actress claimed that they were all shy and giddy about it and that they didn't want to inquire further and they were just waiting for the lecture to get over.

For the unversed, 'Chhatriwali' makes a statement on women’s reproductive health. It is a slice-of-life story on the importance of male contraceptives and safe sex set in Haryana. Rakul will be seen playing a quality control head in a condom factory in the film. It is slated to release on an OTT platform.
