Raksha Bandhan..a thread of Love!

Raksha Bandhan a festival of of love, faith and protection is being celebrated all over India today.. Let's see what our Television stars think about this 'thread' of affection..

"The sun radiates its sunlight, the radish spreads its seeds,
I tie the rakhi on you, my brother, and wish that may you live long".

The chaste bond of love between a brother and a sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions. 'Raksha Bandhan' or 'Rakhi' is a special occasion to celebrate this emotional bonding by tying a holy thread around the brother's wrist. This thread, which pulsates with sisterly love and sublime sentiments, is rightly called the 'Rakhi'.

So as our stars from small screen, take time out from their busy schedule to get the chord of Love tied around their wrist..

Kunal Kapoor:

Raksha Bandhan to you is: Raksha Bandhan for me is lot of Kharcha (laughs). Jokes apart, it is a very sacred festival. I have one Rakhi sister who comes down every year to tie Rakhi. Last year she was out, probably this year she is coming.

The most expensive gift you have given on Rakhi: I haven't really given any expensive gift on Rakhi. Sab girlfriend pe hi karch hojaata hai(Everything gets spent only on the girl friend)

What will your reaction be if Deepika Padukone offers to tie a Rakhi to your hand?: I would be blank by seeing her.

The one girl whom you will never allow to tie a Rakhi and why: Millions of names are there; but no name flashes at the moment!!

Your most memorable Raksha Bandhan: Yes I remember once when I was in college I was very sick on Rakhi day and I went to my Rakhi sister's place where her mom prepared my favorite dish and they took great care of me..

Panchi Bora:

Raksha Bandhan to you is: Joy and fun!! It is always nice to tie rakhi and do aarti. We do fight the whole year, but on this day, siblings usually get together and care for each other a lot.

The most expensive gift you have ever got on Rakhi: I have always received suprises for Rakhi, so have never bothered about the price.

The one boy who you will never tie rakhi to: My best friend Anchul who is in the Army. He gets annoyed whenever I tell him that I will tie rakhi to him. He always tells me that he is my best friend and not my brother!!

Your most memorable Raksha Bandhan:
Every Rakhsha Bandhan is memorable for me. But last year was special. I don't have own brother, but yes have cousins whom I tie rakhi. Now that they have all settled abroad, I sent them rakhi by post and they were taken by surprise.

Sharad Malhotra:

Raksha Bandhan to you is: I like this festival very much. This is the one festival where I am always at my place with all my cousins. My sister is elder to me and she is like my mother, so this is the occasion where I can express my feelings to her and tell her how much I love her.

The most expensive gift you have ever got on Rakhi: The rate of the gift doesn't matter here. It is the love behind the gift. I can gift anything, from a car to a house. But I think the gift given on Rakhi can't be materialistic.

What will your reaction be if Deepika Padukone offers to tie a Rakhi to your hand?: What?? I can't hear you (laughs) That's my answer to this question!!

The one girl whom you will never allow to tie a Rakhi and why: There are many, I can't name just one!! Ok, if have to tell you one girl, she would be Salma Hayek. I used to like her very much, but now she is old (grins)

Your most memorable Raksha Bandhan: Every year the festival of Rakhi is memorable for me.

Twinkle Bajpai:

Raksha Bandhan to you is: I think it is a special occasion for me as it is not something related to God, but it is a day when a sister or a brother can show their love towards each other. I actually have a younger brother who on the contrary loves to take gifts from me on Raksha Bandhan.

The most expensive gift you have ever got on Rakhi: I got a diamond ring from my brother once, but part of the money for this was funded by my dad.

The one boy who you will never tie rakhi to: I would never like to tie a Rakhi to Shahid Kapoor as I really like him. I am actually crazy for him.

Your most memorable Raksha Bandhan: Every year my brother does something special for me. Last year I was stuck and could not go home during Rakhi. Being in class 10 he got a flight alone and came to Mumbai just to meet me on this special day. It was a big surprise!!

Angad Hansija:

Raksha Bandhan to you is: I like this festival a lot and I always think that if I had a sister, then she would have tied me a Rakhi.

The most expensive gift you have ever got on Rakhi: Actually I have a cousin sister whose is now married. I gifted her a teddy bear once, but now I feel that I should give her an expensive gift (grins)

What will your reaction be if Deepika Padukone offers to tie a Rakhi to your hand?: I would be shocked. But then what can I do if she has accepted me as a brother?? I would surely allow her to tie rakhi.

The one girl whom you will never allow to tie a Rakhi and why: I would never allow Sara Khan because the chemistry we share on screen will not be liked by viewers if she ties a Rakhi to me.

Your most memorable Raksha Bandhan: When I was around 15 my cousin tied me a Rakhi and that was the last time we met and we had a ball of time with the entire family coming together.

Gautam Rode:

Raksha Bandhan to you is: It is very special for me. I have an elder sister and we visit each other whenever we get time. This time I doubt if I will be able to go for Rakhi but the best part is that I have already got her Rakhi in advance.

The most expensive gift you have ever given on Rakhi: I got her a diamond set once which I coupled for Rakhi as well as her birthday..

What will your reaction be if Deepika Padukone offers to tie a Rakhi to your hand?: If she wants to, then its ok with me (laughs).

The one girl whom you will never allow to tie a Rakhi and why: My ex-girlfriends as I won't be able to imagine them as my sister.

Your most memorable Raksha Bandhan: (let me figure out) In college when the whole family got together once has been the happiest moment.
